I love this picture. It both relates to my life and to this post's topic. I know I talk a lot about The Dragons' Stones and The Dragon's Skin. Those are the two WIPs that I'm working on the most. But I do have others.

Simply put, Lady Bloodhawk is the story of a monster learning to be human.

During the next two centuries, America will take part in three more world wars. Part of the war effort of World War Five is the perfection of experiments begun in World War Four. The result is scientifically engineered human soldiers.

Created by Dr. Edward Xavier Zirya, they are called Exziryans in his honor. Dr. Zirya trained his creations at family property in the Rockies. The Exzyirans helped America win World War Five. Afterwards, Dr. Zirya died, but his assistants continued his work.

The family property was left to the Exzyirans themselves. They then formed their own society where military success meant everything. Before long, they invaded nearby towns and declared themselves to be their own nation. From that began a conquest of America that has yet to end.

Tuarwen will do anything she can to avoid a war because she knows neither side will show mercy. #Castaway

Now, obviously, this story as edges of both sci-fi and dystopia. It's very different from the fantasy I usually write (no dragons, no elves).

But under that, it explores the value of human emotions and the consequences of mindless violence. And it tells a story of rebirth for someone who has done horrible things.

So... yeah, Lady Bloodhawk. It's a bit harsher than some of my books, but it's contains light as well. If this interests you, let me know in a comment and check out the LADY BLOODHAWK Pinterest Board

Now for something easier.
