Y'all, I freaking love dragons, okay? That's just the end of the story. I have them in three out of four WIPs. I grew up with The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Hobbit (thanks, Mom!), so I firmly believe that...

So I wrote this poem about a baby dragon a while ago, and I actually love it. Hope y'all do too.

Firebreather from the mountain,
What brought you hungry from your home?
Where is your mother who birthed you?
Where is your father who protected you?

Firebreather from the mountain,
Why did you first flight turn into a fall?
Where was your father to teach you?
Where was your mother to comfort you?

Firebreather from the mountain,
Who taught you to run scared from me?
Where is your mother to embolden you?
Where is your father to train you?

Firebreather from the mountain,
What stole your race’s freedom from you?
Where is your mother who birthed you?
Where is your father who protected you?

Now I could cry again. My poor little firebreather, I promise I will keep you safe forever and ever.

*sniffs* I'm okay; I'm okay.

Anyway, got move on. (It'll be okay, baby.) Next week/post, I'm going to introduce some of my favorite characters and provide links to their stories' Pinterest boards. So come back for that, y'all hear me?
